Oncology Data Specialists are data information specialists who capture the complete history, diagnosis, treatment, and health status of every cancer patient in the U.S. This detailed data provides essential information to researchers, healthcare providers, and public health officials to enhance better monitoring and advancement in cancer treatments, conduct research, and improve cancer prevention and screening programs. Oncology Data Specialists work for hospital, state, and federal cancer registries. The information registry professionals capture is reportable, by law, to state and federal government agencies, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Cancer Institute.
The Oncology North Coast Oncology Data Specialist Association, formerly the Cleveland Cancer Registrars Association (CCRA), is registered with the state of Ohio as a Charitable Organization. The Cleveland Cancer Registrars Association was established as a Domestic Nonprofit Corp, effective December 12, 2023. On December 12, 2028 the state accepted the amendment to our articles for the name change to the Ohio North Coast Oncology Data Specialist Association (ONCODSA), which reflects our expanding role as specialists in capturing registry data.
